Daniel Jones has found a new home and is ready to make a fresh start.
After a rough patch with the Giants, where he struggled to find his rhythm, Jones has signed a one-year deal worth $14 million with the Colts. Instead of heading back to the Vikings for a shot at redemption, he’s diving into competition with Anthony Richardson, who was picked third overall in the 2023 draft but hasn’t quite hit his stride yet in the NFL.
This contract could go up to $17.7 million if he hits all the performance incentives. Not too shabby, right?
During his time with the Giants, Jones had a tough record of 24 wins, 44 losses, and one tie over six seasons. Things got pretty messy last November when he was let go after a disappointing two years following a gigantic four-year, $160 million contract. He briefly joined the Vikings to learn from head coach Kevin O’Connell but didn’t get any playing time during the playoffs.
During his career, people thought Jones was a key piece in the quarterback scene, especially with big names like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers in the mix. Now, he’s hoping to turn things around and find his groove with the Colts.
